どうぶつなき声クイズ/Sound wolf [team work, photo]
An audio game in silence. Inspired by attending a concert alongside an aurally diverse friend, where the amplified vibration of the speaker travelled into skin. What we ordinarily hear, we here feel. Participants read animal rhythms through their hands—a stampede underfoot, a wingbeat against the chest. They imagine, then find language for it.
Created with Max. Exhibited at ComoNe in collaboration with Audio Game Center.
Mot

A tiny pad for digital handwriting. Recognises text and looks it up in the dictionary. Created in Swift.
Tategaki (vertical writing)
After Xerox Alto’s tall screen went unrepeated, the desktop calcified into landscape, and everything living within adapted accordingly. This adaptation formed a rule of symmetry; the horizontal axis became dominant.
East Asian typography carries a tradition at work: each unit of text (kanji, punctuation) conceived as dwelling within a square. When characters descend in columns that advance from right to left, they move against this horizontal conformity. Tategaki negotiates an interface landscape designed for the vertical and asks what web layout can do to help.
a music tagger
Reads the metadata from an audio file and completes its missing details (cover art, release year, and more). A design attempt to liberate from the confines of window chrome. Created in Swift.
